Windermere Foundation February Update
Windermere Real Estate has always valued giving back to the community above all else. That’s why every time a Windermere agent helps someone buy or sell a home, a portion of their commission is donated to the Windermere Foundation. The Seattle-based Windermere Real Estate Company group of offices funds enhanced programs for children from low-income families in elementary, middle, and high schools.
Our recent grant recipient:
$4,608 to Viewlands Elementary School — These funds will be used primarily for the Islandwood Camp for 24 kids.
$2,700 to Low Income Housing Institute — These funds will be used for Capoeira classes for the kids living at Meadowbrook View. Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music. Last year we funded hip hop classes, fun!
$12,025 to University Family YMCA — This money will fund sixty-five children living in public housing at Jackson Park and Lake City Court to attend a full week of summer camp at Magnuson Park this summer.
$4,480 to John Rogers Elementary School — For horse and swim classes.
$3,000 to Olympic View Elementary School — For 3rd and 5th graders math and science camp.
These kids all go to school in the neighborhoods of the offices that funded the requests: Sand Point, Wedgwood, and Northgate. $26,800 can go a long way, touching many kids throughout our city. We couldn’t do this without our generous agents and community members that are always eager to lend a helping hand.
