Windermere Hosts Third-Annual Washington Waterfront Home Tour

When you picture your best life, does it include entertaining shore-side? Launching a boat from your back steps? Or fishing in your pajamas? If you dream of a waterfront life then you’re in luck! That’s because  on June 24-25 we are hosting the third-annual Washington Waterfront Home Tour. More than 80 homes from the San Juan Islands to Lake Sammamish are available to tour by boat, bike, or car. Properties are priced from $595,000 to $20 million. While you might think a waterfront home is out of your budget, there are actually properties that fit a wide variety of needs, styles, and budgets.

Here are a few examples of what you can expect to see this weekend on the tour:

Welcome Leigh Canlis!

We are excited to announce the addition of Leigh Canlis to the Windermere Services team!

Leigh has been a well-known business and community leader in the Seattle area for more than 18 years. Her background includes managing sales, events, and VIP client relations for Dale Chihuly, 13 years as President of Canlis Glass, and Vice President-Private Banker at JP Morgan, as well as Vice President-Wealth Strategist for Northern Trust. Leigh is also well known for her extensive charitable work with several Seattle-area non-profits.

“I want to help Windermere push the traditional boundaries of luxury real estate and define a new, refined category within the marketplace,” she said in a statement. “I want it to make a mark and grab people’s attention with its grace and sophistication, to feel out of the box for the real estate world, while complimenting everything that Windermere stands for.”

Windermere already leads in luxury sales in the greater Seattle area, but we are excited for the creativity and fresh ideas Leigh brings with her. We know all too well how quickly our market can change, and we want to make sure Windermere stays ahead of the evolving needs of our clients.

Welcome to the Windermere family, Leigh!

2929 1st Ave Ph 1

Belltown

$2,900,000 | 3 Bed | 3.25 Bath | 3,070 SQFT

What’s better than a penthouse? A double penthouse – aka – having half of the entire top floor to yourself. Get ready to have your eyes fill with tears of joy as you take in this incredible space and its views of Seattle’s best sites. With west-facing views of the Sound and Olympics, overlooking views of the Sculpture Park, AND views of the Blue Angels at EYE LEVEL, it really doesn’t get much better than this. Except that it does get better because you get to enjoy these views from a huge rooftop deck while winding down in your hot tub. Not only that, but this remarkable listing comes with three parking spots – and we all know how frustrating it is to park in the city. If money can buy happiness this penthouse is it.

Over the Top: What’s the Most Outrageous Feature You’ve Seen In a Home?

IMG_7082It’s not every day you get to tour a $16.5 million dollar mansion. But yesterday we were lucky enough to be able to crash an invite-only Brokers Open event that drew more than 50 Windermere agents from throughout the greater Seattle area. You’ve heard the saying “fit for a King” but this place really is FIT. FOR. A. KING. Walking through this jaw-dropping 13,610 square-foot masterpiece honestly takes your breath away. If you don’t believe us, check out the pictures.

While we had all of these luxury real estate experts in one spot, we thought we’d ask them what the most opulent feature was that they’d ever seen in a home. When in Rome, right?

It’s probably hard to think of anything else when so much opulence is staring you right in the face. For Patrick Crowthers from Windermere’s Bellevue South office, it was the pool room of the very home we were standing in. “The attention to detail and the time it must’ve taken to mentally create and then execute the fine details,” were what stood out to him. His business partner, Leighsa Francis agreed, “It’s so over the top luxurious, huge, and high quality.” Karl Lindor, one of the agents representing the
listing, told us that the mosaic tiles of the pool room were the most over-the-top feature he’d ever seen. Specifically, “theIMG_7098 artistic design and the fact that each time you view the mosaics, new colors, new materials, and new creatures appear.” John Kritsonis, Karl’s co-listing agent on the home, was in awe with the Onyx powder room. He said it had “opulent translucency.” We should mention this place boasts exquisite marble, granite, and Onyx gleaming from floor to pillar. And a 300 bottle wine cellar. And Italian fountains. Need we say more?

Ruth Harle, also an agent from the Windermere Bellevue South office, told us about a different pool she had seen that might just be on the same level as the one in this home. She said it was “an outdoor pool with a giant movie screen so you could watch movies IMG_7009and swim at the same time.” Ruth also mentioned another home with an underground shooting range and an equestrian barn converted into a car museum. Not too shabby. Last but not least, Windermere agent Rick Franz said the most outrageous luxury feature he had ever seen was “a house that had its own recreation of a sports club and hair salon. It was very decadent.”

This home may not have a hair salon or underground shooting range, but it has just about anything else you can think of when it comes to luxury amenities and design. Even if you can’t afford the $16.5 million price tag, you can still get a taste of what it might be like to live there by watching this video. As for us, we’d be fine living in the pool room.

Luxury Lookout: Phinney Ridge

JCowan0041

5708 Palantine Ave N

Phinney Ridge

$1,475,000 | 4 Bed | 4.25 Bath | 3,690 SQFT

What’s better than a beautiful home in Phinney Ridge? A fully remodeled beautiful home in Phinney Ridge. This home might as well be brand spanking new with all of the high-quality materials and thoughtful touches made to the place. Not only that, but it’s completely stocked with areas to entertain. Invite your family and friends over for some serious Seahawks action in the large lower-level bonus room, play Ping-Pong or pool, and of course, tend bar. But it doesn’t stop there because the backyard is another perfect place to host BBQ’s and bonfires. The large master suite upstairs includes a walk-out balcony and spa-like marble bathroom with double sinks, soaking tub, and shower. Easily walk or bike to Green Lake, Woodland Park Zoo, restaurants, and shops. Wrap all that up and we’d say this place makes one pretty package.
