Windermere Donates $35,000 To Help #TackleHomelessness

The regular football season is officially over, and while the Seahawks didn’t make it to the Super Bowl this year, they did take home the title of NFC West champs. We can think of a number of reasons to be proud of the Seahawks, but the biggest one for us is the $35,000 they helped us raise to #tacklehomelessness.

As the Official Real Estate Company of the Seattle Seahawks, Windermere and the Seahawks decided to partner on a cause that is important to our community. The result was our #tacklehomelessness campaign which saw Windermere donating $100 for every Seahawks home game tackle during the 2016 season. An additional donation was made in honor of Bobby Wagner, the NFL leader in tackles this season, for each of his 167 tackles. All of these tackles added up to an impressive $35,000.

The recipient of the $35,000 donation is YouthCare, a non-profit organization that provides essential services to homeless youth. The money raised will help fund YouthCare’s Residential Care Programs, which provide both housing and tailored support services to youth transitioning from homelessness to stability and independence.

Our partnership with the Seahawks and YouthCare fits perfectly with the mission of the Windermere Foundation, which is to support low-income and homeless families in the communities where we have offices. We are grateful for the opportunity to provide additional support to homeless youth in our area thanks to the Seahawks, YouthCare and the #tacklehomelessness campaign.

See you next season and GO HAWKS!

We’ve Got You Covered Winter Drive for YouthCare – Wrap Up

Windermere Winter Drive Collects over 3,500 Items for Homeless Youth

As part of Windermere’s #tacklehomelessness campaign with the Seattle Seahawks, 38 Windermere offices* in King and Snohomish Counties collected new hats, scarves, gloves/mittens, and warm socks for Windermere’s “We’ve Got You Covered” winter drive. The recipient of these donations was YouthCare, a non-profit that provides support and services to homeless youth throughout the Puget Sound area.

An estimated 3,500 items were collected during the four-week drive. We are thankful for the generosity and enthusiasm shown by the participating offices—there was even some competition among them to collect the most items. Taking that title for the most donations was the Windermere Shoreline office which alone collected 665 items! Some of the donations were even hand-made by members of the community, like the 10 sets of hats/scarves knitted and donated to Windermere’s Mercer Island office, and the homemade Seahawks scarves and hats that were donated to the Property Management – South office. These generous donations will go a long way towards helping to keep many homeless youth warmer this winter season.

Jody Waits, Development and Communications Officer at YouthCare, was overwhelmed with excitement by all of the winter gear that was collected: “This is AMAZING! We received a truck – a literal truck – full of donations,” she said, adding, “Windermere’s amazing donations provide homeless youth with cold-weather items they would not be able to afford to purchase on their own. Helping a young person feel warm, dry, and safe, frees them up to focus on achieving other goals, and connecting to their future potential. We are very grateful for Windermere’s partnership with YouthCare.”

We are also incredibly grateful to Gentle Giant Moving Company, who partnered with us for this drive, and generously donated their time and trucks to pick up all of the donated items from our offices and deliver them to YouthCare.

Thank you to our participating offices, and all those who donated, for making our winter drive a success!

Windermere Foundation Announces New Total for #Tacklehomelessness Campaign

Earlier this year, Windermere and the Seattle Seahawks announced that we were joining together to help #tacklehomelessness. For every home game tackle made by the Seahawks, the Windermere Foundation is donating $100 to YouthCare, a non-profit that provides support and services to homeless youth throughout the Puget Sound area. During yesterday’s game we raised an additional $4,300 for a total of $12,500 so far this season. We’re proud to cheer on our home team and make a different while doing it! #GoHawks #GiveBack #MNF #WindermereBlue

Help Us Keep Homeless Youth Warm This Winter

Earlier this year, Windermere and the Seattle Seahawks announced that we were joining together to help #tacklehomelessness. For every home game tackle made by the Seahawks, the Windermere Foundation is donating $100 to YouthCare, a non-profit that provides support and services to homeless youth throughout the Puget Sound area.

As proud as we are of our #tacklehomelessness campaign and the money we’re raising, we know we can do more. That’s why we’re excited to announce Windermere’s “We’ve Got You Covered” winter drive benefitting YouthCare. Each night in Seattle, nearly 1,000 young people are homeless. And with the winter months quickly approaching, YouthCare is in dire need of survival supplies to keep homeless youth warm and dry during the long, wet winter.

Here’s what we are collecting:

  • Warm socks
  • Hats
  • Scarves
  • Gloves/mittens

From October 17 through November 14, you can drop off donations to participating Windermere offices in King and Snohomish Counties*. Our friends at Gentle Giant Moving Company are generously donating their time and trucks to pick up all of the donations from our offices. Donations can also be dropped off directly to YouthCare in South Lake Union at the James W. Ray Orion Center: 1828 Yale Avenue.

We hope you will consider making a donation to our “We’ve Got You Covered” winter drive. Feel free to contact your Windermere agent or local office for more information, or email

StagerPalooza is back to help #TackleHomelessness!

Once a year, the talented people at Staging & Design Network have a two day sale of their staging inventory, to make room for new trends, styles and colors. This is a fantastic opportunity to buy furniture and décor that was hand-picked by an interior designer and then sold at a fraction of the retail price.

This year, they have added a new element to help support the Windermere Foundation in association with the Seattle Seahawks to #tacklehomelessness and support YouthCare. For every item on YouthCare’s Wish List that you bring into the sale, you will win a chance at a fun door prize!

Seattle’s True Love

Being Seattleites we’re known for our love of coffee, but we don’t think people appreciate our other love enough: donuts. Remember back in 2010 when ex-Seahawks player, Golden Tate, broke into Top Pot in Bellevue at 3AM because he just really needed a Maple Bar? These fluffy, mouthwatering circles (or rectangles) of joy have our city wrapped around their little finger, so it’s no surprise that a new donut shop just popped up.

Seattle-based Mighty O’s has found another home in Ballard, and its doors are now open. With a submarine-esque view of the donuts being made, a paddleboard shaped seating area, and portraits of the sea, this nautical decor could not be more in tune with its neighborhood. Donut get us started on their delish delectables; go taste test them for yourself!

Cruise with the 12s

Celebrate Father’s Day like you never have before by jumping on the Seattle Seahawks fan cruise to Alaska. Princess Cruises has set up exclusive Q&A sessions, meet-and-greet autograph signings, and photo opportunities with some of our favorite football players, including: former Safety Jordan Babineaux (2004-2010), Former Guard Edwin Bailey (1981-1991), Offensive Tackle Justin Britt (2014-present), Hall of Fame Quarterback and current commentator for Seahawks Radio Warren Moon (1997-1998), Defensive End Gregg Scruggs (2012-present), Ring of Honor Quarterback Jim Zorn (1976-1984), and a special appearance from Doug Baldwin. And what would a Seahawks event be without Blitz? He’ll be there too with some of his favorite Sea Gals.

Few things rival being on a boat full of 12s and Seahawks legends, but you can bet that the opportunity won’t last for long. Visit for the latest details.

Blue Friday Takeover

Come one, come all to the Blue Friday Takeover at the EMP today! The Seahawks play the Packers on Sunday in the NFC Championship game and this is where your festivities should begin. In a completely fan-centered event, you can snap a photo with the famed Vince Lombardi Trophy, watch a Madden NFL grudge match on the Sky Church screen, have a go at the PEMCO #Yelfie booth, relive the road to victory with screenings of The Road to the Super Bowl in the JBL theater, and of course check out the We Are 12 original exhibit. As if that couldn’t sound any more enticing, there’s a discount on all Seahawks merchandise.

Ready for the Hawks to wreak havoc on the Packers this weekend? We know we are.

Are You In?

Hey 12s, in light of the game tomorrow, Windermere Real Estate has chosen to support our boys in blue by running our ads during the game and post game coverage, so don’t skip the commercials!

Three things to consider for tomorrow:

1. Although the “selfie” might be running out of steam, the “Twelfie” will never go out of style.

2. A house is not a home without a 12th Man.

3. Is it coincidence that Wilson’s name is on every football? We. Think. Not.

We’re in! Are you?
